California Closets continuously pursues opportunities to provide customers with environmentally sustainable options, and that is why our products reflect our commitment to a healthier home environment.

Our concern for the environment can be seen in the steps that we have taken to reduce our carbon footprint. For example, most of the board used by California Closets is manufactured in North America. Even our signature line, the Italian-inspired Lago® collection, is domestically produced. You can breathe easier knowing that the board used in our products is CARB (California Air Resources Board) compliant adhering to some of the most rigorous regulations for emission standards.

We are proud that all of California Closets’ boards are made with recycled wood fibers, which can contribute to achieving LEED®
credits. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system is the nationally recognized standard for green building administered by the U.S. Green Building Council. We offer a variety of substrates; including a no added urea-formaldehyde (NAUF) board. Your designer can provide more details to determine which board best suits your sustainable needs.

With the above stated commitments in mind, we take pride in offering a variety of door and drawer fronts with sustainable features. These fronts include high recycled content, CARB compliance, and compliance with LEED credit requirements.

We also offer sustainably made decorative panels made from organic material that contain high levels of recycled content that can be reclaimed at their end-of-life stage. They are also GREENGUARD certified. GREENGUARD Environmental Institute’s mission is to improve indoor air quality and reduce human exposure to chemicals and other pollutants.

California Closets is always looking to further expand upon our green options. We invite you to visit and learn about our progress as we continue to search for new products that have sustainable features.
